This unnamed lake near Lake Perkolilli is a little gem in the outback. It is a secluded lake that is small enough to walk completely around the shore in half and hour or so, and has a wonderful cracked and crusty white surface which is a greatly desired feature in nightscape photos.
You are almost guaranteed to have this lake all to yourself. When I was there the night was clear with only a gentle breeze. Venturing out onto the lake, the surface glowed with an ethereal light under the stars, and no where was there the sound of civilisation. Completely alone. Wonderful!

Google Maps
I had planned on doing nightscape photography as well as astrophotography - but there were some issues. Whilst the lake is wonderful for nightscapes, the skies are not completely dark as a nearby mine site to the west spoils a bit the western sky (and my astro target was in the western sky). So those images did not turn out. However, if you aim to only shoot towards the eastern dark skies, then I highly recommend this little lake - a mere one hour from Kalgoorlie.
But here's the rub - you will need a 4wd. The dirt trails require some body clearance and the trail is narrow with bushes crowding around in parts. The trail also only passes by the lake and does not lead to it (refer google maps on this page). You will have to go off trail to reach the lake by vehicle. The difficulty in reaching this lake is the reason why you are likely to have it totally for your own.
