The Angel of Pleiades

by admin · December 20, 2019
It is hard to mistake the cold beauty of Pleiades (Messier 45). In this image the blue stars of this open cluster shines through the interstellar clouds that flow endlessly through the infinite night. The stars are young, blue, B-type stars of which up to 14 can be seen with the naked eye under ideal conditions.
This image was taken over two nights (20/12/2019 and 26/11/2019). I focused on long exposures to bring out as much of the reflection nebula as possible, as I love the sweeping currents they make - probably to the detriment of over-saturating the stars a bit.
