Close to the popular beach Green's Pool, Elephant Rocks is a short 15 minute walk away and highly recommended (with some caveats). It is a short section of beach nestled in a wedge of high rocks, such that it gives the impression that it is secluded. To the south it provides wonderful views, however views in any other direction are met with either high rock faces or sandy hills - so this location supports only one type of composition - views south (although if you climb the rocks - not recommended - there may be other possible views).
For nightscapes a wide angle lens viewing south is the primary composition, with the Milkyway vertical overhead (I've only been there when the Milkway was descending to the west). Otherwise, nightscapes here are limited compared to the neighbouring Green's Pool.
From the car park there are a number of paths leading down to the beaches. It is signposted so you should have no problems taking the path to Elephant Rocks.

Elephant Rocks is about 20 minutes by car from the tourist town of Denmark. Denmark itself is about four and a half to five hours from Perth and is a fantastic place to visit (and stay) in its own right. Apart from all the tourist trap, there are many places in the great southern that are very photogenic - you'll not want for possibilities. However, what you may want in the end are clear skies - the great southern region rarely has them.
